John Shaw, the Executive Chef of the Port Tavern
John Shaw, a life time Maine resident combines the use of locally Maine grown ingredients with a creative home-style influence. A graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, John began his career at the Kennebunkport Inn as an intern, rotating through a variety of positions before assuming the Sous Chef position and then the Executive Chef position. During his career, John has worked at some of the region’s renowned establishments; Windows on the Water in Kennebunkport and Old England Inn in Stowe. He brings that wealth of experience and creative talent to the culinary team here at the inn. With a focus on continually bringing new fresh ingredients to the menu at the Port Tavern & Grille, John balances that with staying true to the fine reputation the inn has, as Kennebunkport’s only steakhouse and seafood grille.
